Dustin Allen is the founder and main contributor for Margin of Value.

Finance and investing became a passion in my life after reading The Total Money Makeover in 2006. Living by the principles we learned in the book, my wife and I became debt free and undid a lifetime of financial mistakes.

Now, I have begun to invest for our retirement. I have read,studied and digested all the material I could find on the principles and application of value investing. Just like before, a book has grabbed my attention and spurred me into action. This time, it is The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. A book considered by many to be the definitive guide for value based investing.

This blog is my invitation for you to follow my progress and hopefully learn, right along with me, how an ‘average joe’ can build a retirement today.
